Residence Certificate (on site, if the foreigner is located in Pattaya)This document is a proof of your permanent or semi-permanent address in Thailand issued by the Immigration Office or relevant authority. It confirms where you are officially residing and is commonly required for a number of legal and administrative processes.
It allows you to:
- Buy or sell vehicles in Thailand and complete ownership transfer at the Department of Land Transport
- Register a vehicle under your name
- Apply for a Thai driving license or renew an existing one
- Open a Thai bank account
This certificate is typically a one-time use document and is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance, or until your current visa expires if the remaining validity is less than 30 days. It must be used within this period as most authorities will not accept an expired certificate.
