Who is eligible for a Family Visa for Thailand?
The Non-Immigrant O Visa is available to foreign family members of a person working in Thailand or a spouse of a Thai National. In most cases, for a working expatriate, this would include their wife (if not a Thai national) and children, including (legally registered) step-children. Children over the age of 20 and parents can generally not apply for a Thai family visa.
If you're married to a Thai national or are the parent of a child with Thai nationality, this visa is your key to long-term residence and legal status in Thailand. A marriage (spouse) visa not only allows you to stay in the country long-term but also opens the door to obtaining a work permit, enabling you to work in Thailand under specific conditions once approved.

Only one parent can be attached to each child’s visa (usually under 20 years old). That means 1 parent per 1 child’s visa. If there are 2 children, both parents may be eligible, but both children must be enrolled in a school institution.
There are 2 most important conditions to keep in mind for one parent to meet the requirements (non-exhaustive list). Please note these conditions apply per parent, so if both parents apply, each parent must meet them individually:
