Non-Immigrant ED Visa

The Non-Immigrant ED (Education) Visa is intended for foreign students who wish to study in international schools or participate in approved training courses in Thailand. This visa is commonly issued for students enrolled in language schools, universities, international schools, or other officially recognized educational programs.

The ED visa allows an initial stay of 90 days, with the possibility to extend the stay in Thailand for the duration of the study program, subject to immigration approval and compliance with visa conditions. The stay begins upon arrival on the territory.

What’s good for parents about this visa?

Only one parent can be attached to each child’s visa (usually under 20 years old). That means 1 parent per 1 child’s visa. If there are 2 children, both parents may be eligible, but both children must be enrolled in a school institution.
